Forward Regulatory Plan 2026 to 2028
This Forward Regulatory Plan provides information on regulatory initiatives that Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) aims to propose or finalize in the next two years through:
- pre-publication in the Canada Gazette, Part roman numeral 1
- final publication in the Canada Gazette, Part roman numeral 2
The Forward Regulatory Plan may also include regulatory initiatives that are planned to come forward over a longer time frame. Comments or enquiries can be made using the contact information included with each regulatory initiative.

- Adaptation Regulations (Proposed) for Indigenous Organizations, pursuant to the First Nations Fiscal Management Act
- Regulations (Amending) the First Nations Assessment Appeal Regulations, pursuant to the First Nations Fiscal Management Act
- Order (Amending) the Schedule to the First Nations Fiscal Management Act
- Regulations (Amending) the First Nations Land Registry Regulations, pursuant to the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management Act
- Regulations (Amending) the First Nations Property Assessment and Taxation (Railway Rights-of-Way) Regulations, pursuant to the First Nations Fiscal Management Act
- Regulations (Amending) the First Nations Taxation Enforcement Regulations, pursuant to the First Nations Fiscal Management Act
- Order Bringing Individual Agreements with First Nations into Effect, pursuant to the First Nations Jurisdiction over Education in British Columbia Act
- Regulations (Amending) the Mackenzie Valley Federal Areas Water Regulations, pursuant to the Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act
